About

Mr Burchett specialises in commercial contract and property law; in particular, corporations, joint ventures, partnership and agency law, conveyancing disputes, unfair contract, trade practices and franchise disputes, financial services, securities and insolvency disputes. He is also highly experienced in administrative, professional standards, defamation, trusts and estates and intellectual property law.

He has for many years been an accredited arbitrator and mediator, acting in court-appointed and independent alternative dispute resolution procedures in relation to all manner of civil disputes. While entitled to practice in all states and territories of Australia, he is specifically admitted to practice by the Supreme Courts of NSW and Queensland and by the High Court of the Solomon Islands.

Mr Burchett is an active member of various legal and alternative dispute resolution associations; he is a member of the NSW and Queensland Bar Associations, the Law Council of Australia, the Resolution Institute, an associate member of the Law Society of NSW, and a fellow of the Commercial Law Association.
